Hello! I'm Mani (pronounced like "Money") Tofigh (it's up to you how to pronounce it).

I'm an incoming CS Ph.D. student at Columbia University, advised by Dr. Asaf Cidon. I did my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in research at Hofstra University, where I did research (and still do tbh) with Dr. Jianchen Shan.

Broadly, I'm interested in operating systems, computer architecture, system security, cloud and confidential computing, and distributed systems.

In particular, I find repurposing architectural properties of processors very interesting: e.g., weird machines/gates, or repurposing side-channels for performance gains rather than microarchitectural attacks.

I'm from Iran, and I lived in the beautiful city of Tehran up until the start of my undergraduate studies.
I majored in Mathematics & Physics in Allameh Amini and ATCCE during my high school years.
