Hey! I'm Mani (pronounced like "Money") Tofigh (honestly it's up to you how to pronounce it).

I'm a first-year CS Ph.D. student at Columbia University, advised by Dr. Asaf Cidon. I did my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in research at Hofstra University, where I did research with Dr. Jianchen Shan.

Broadly, I'm interested in operating systems, computer architecture, system security, and cloud computing.

In particular, I find repurposing architectural properties of processors very interesting; e.g., repurposing side-channels for performance gains rather than microarchitectural attacks, weird machines/gates, or using certain architectural behaviors to uncover "hidden" information in virtualized environments.

Originally from the beautiful city of Tehran, Iran.
